PERAN SATUAN LALU LINTAS DALAM MENGURANGI PELANGGARAN LALU LINTAS DI TULUNGAGUNG

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Traffic Unit in Reducing Violations in Tulungagung. This is due to the decreasing trend of traffic violations in Tulungagung. In an effort to reduce the number of traffic violations, the Tulungagung Police Satlantas prioritizes preventive and follow-up or repressive actions. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques with in-depth interviews and observation. The results showed that in reducing violations in Tulungagung is an ideal role, expected role and actual role. The Traffic Unit in Tulungagung takes preventive measures by socializing, warning students and repressive in the form of ticketing and confiscation in reducing the number of traffic violations. Thus there is a need for public understanding and awareness to avoid traffic violations. This is where the role of the police is needed to regulate and direct the public to accept and implement the strategies or methods used by the police in dealing with traffic violations.
